I joined Forresters in 2001 and became a partner in 2006. I am the resident partner at our Liverpool office.  With just under 20 years' experience in the profession and with a technical background of biochemistry, I primarily specialise in providing IP advice in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I particularly enjoy, and am well versed in, contentious work including EPO oppositions and appeals.

I was born in the great city of Glasgow, Scotland and spent my formative years in Johannesburg, South Africa. As such, I qualify as one of the few members of the great "SpringJock" race with a passion for rugby, biltong and haggis.

In my spare time, when I am not being a chauffeur to my two kids, I enjoy watching the mighty Liverpool Football club at Anfield. The atmosphere at Anfield on match day is second to none. I also like to play and coach hockey; although nowadays my body prefers the latter, since it takes me at least two to three days to recover after playing a hockey match.  I am also a "keen" golfer; "keen" in the sense that I like playing the game, but am not necessarily good at it.  To this end, when someone asks me what my handicap is, I tend to reply that I like to think that it is my golf clubs that are holding me back!
